		James College of Education was started in the academic year 2005-06 in memory of DR. James father of Dr. J. Prem Kumar, B.Sc., M.B.B.S., M.Phil., correspondent and Director of the college with the aim of producing teachers with quality sincerity needed to imbided and shape the future density of India. James College of Education is located in a beautiful landscape at mananvilai, near Karunkal in kanyakumari District. It lies in the main bus route of Nagercoil to Karunkal just 1 KM away from karunkal. The distance from Nagercoil to manavilai is 22KMs. The college is Co-educational with a strength of 100 teacher trainees. It has 15 teaching staff and 5 non-teaching staff. The college is recognized by the NCTE, Bangalore and is affiliated to Manaonmaniam Sundaranar University, Thirunelveli. Every morning the college starts academic activities, ample opportunities are provided for co-curricular and extra curricular activities also. In order to facilities better learning, the college has provision of Multimedia Projectors, Computer Lab equipped with latest software in the field of education and Internet with browsing facilities open to the students. The college has well furnished with OHPs (Over Head Projectors) and perfect acoustic system with the purpose of helping budding teachers to acquire better pronunciation skills. To facilitate the young teachers to the modern trends in teaching, annual seminars and workshops in each subject are arranged and eminent scholars and experts in each field participation in them. The college has pucca buildings having sufficient rooms an Audio Visual lab, a Psychology Lab, a Physical Science lab, a Biological Science Lab, Language Labs and has Special Seminar hall, Library, a big reading room, Examination hall and Auditorium. Hostel facilities are available for men and women. Strict discipline is maintained in the hostel. Round the clock electricity facilities (by generator also) are available. There is a store in the college campus for the convenience of the teacher trainees. STD and post box facilities are arranged inside the campus. Inside the college campus we have a Community Health Centre. If any teacher Trainee happens to fall sick, immediate treatment will be given in it. If the Teacher Trainee wants any major treatment, it will be given by the James Multi Specialty Hospital, run by our management. Variety, quality, tasty, nutritious and unlimited vegetarian and non vegetarian food will be supplied in the hostel on dividing system.
